When I established the forums in 2005 it was to offer a more richer web experience and greater functionality than the platform where we started this social adventure in 2003, Yahoo Groups. The forums were once a busy hive of activity and provided locals and visitors with a wealth of information just like the Geocaching Ireland Discussion Group on Facebook today.

It was a time where we didn't have the many social media platforms we have today, and it was a different time in terms of mobility and technology. There was no instant access to information, no Google Maps and a very limited base map on your GPSr. Mobile connectivity for me was a 9600bps Infrared connection from a Nokia to a laptop and in later times to a PDA using WAP.

As we moved into the social media era so did our forums users. Geocaching Ireland moved there too, and we have a thriving community on the Geocaching Ireland Discussion Group on Facebook. As a result, forum activity isn't what it used to be and I have taken the decision to disable new registrations to the forums and to make the forums read only so any information there can still be accessed.

The discussion hasn't ended, it has just moved. Join us on the Facebook Geocaching Ireland Discussion Group .

Placement of caches in graveyards.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to raise this issue but I would seek clarification in relation to the placing of caches in graveyards. I have no doubt this has been aired in the past but I have not looked as I am interested in the present rulings/views. I have noticed over my few months ca...

Cheers I have it sorted now. When I scrolled over to Edinburgh the waypoints were on the map and when I went in to the menu and selected Find by Name there they were. All is well.

Yea I have compared windows and both are the same. The GPS is empty and the limit is 500 or maybe 1000 so the prob is not there.
As regards the number I have 16 - the pop-up shows 17 but 1 is a hidden waypoint - parking or something.
Your absolutely right the problem is so obvious I can't see it!!

Problem sending waypoints to GPS

Am going to Edinburgh shortly. Created database with 16 caches in GSAK. Tried to send to GPS. Won't go! Am able to send My Finds and default database but not newly created db. My Finds was created by PQ. Edinburgh DB created by myself saving as GPX file. Any ideas? I tried 'send to gps' on a cache p...

Cheers folks I have the issue sorted. I transferred them individually and it worked OK. I think the ID I was referring to was the SMART name but seem to have got a little mixed up. I am still on a steep learning curve with all this caching tech stuff but getting there.

The No's are in order of logging: GC197PT, GC10PGZ, GCZ7JG, GC11GQ3, GCQYKX.
It was suggested in a reply that I transfer them from my cache list as GPX. I am not sure that would work but I may be wrong. That is what I was referring to in my original query.

Incorrect tally of finds in PQ

Not sure this is the right place but when I did a PQ of My Finds in order to set up a macro I recieved a return of 162 when it should be 167. The five that are missing are 3 logged in Gran Canaria and 2 which are now archived. How do I have these included accurately. I thought of doing it 'manually'...
